Day Two

We survived day 2! The boys are asleep, and the girls, well they are in their beds. They are sharing Brynna's room, so sleep comes slowly.

We went to a fun park near our house this morning, and the girls had a blast! The park has a sprinkler area, swings, a rock climbing area, and a big sand pit scattered with sand toys. We never made it over to the sand because the girls were having so much fun with everything else. My friend Ashley came with us to help out. Taking care of 4 kids really isn't that hard if you have someone helping you all the time! I didn't get any pictures of the park, but Ashley got a few. If I can get a hold of her memory stick, I'll post those later.

Lane seems to be enjoying all the commotion and people around. This morning, he decided he especially liked Andy and started crawling after him all over the living room, trying to get Andy to wrestle with him. Andy is not a fan of wrestling. Now when he sees Lane coming, he whines and crawls the other way.

The girls are getting along well, though they have had to take a couple of breaks from each other. Most of those break have been while they were strapped into the back row of the mini van. One says something the other doesn't like (usually Brynna to Suzy), and I have to tell them to take a break and not talk to each other for a little while. So far that's worked to avert major meltdowns. I hope my little bag of tricks holds out for the next 6 days.

This afternoon we spent at Suzy and Andy's house. We met up with Kaitlyn, the high school neighbor, who helped out through bedtime. Marti installed a swing in their playroom a while back, and all of the kids had fun taking turns in the swing. It reminds me of a giant sling.

Here are some pics from today.

Here's a cute shot from breakfast.

Kaitlyn with Brynna in the swing.

Suzy takes a turn.

I love this picture. It reminds me of some of Marti's awesome shots, only not as good.

The babies even got in on the swing action. Swinging is one of Lane's favorite things in the world, so is riding in the sling. No surprise to me, he was pretty excited about the giant sling swing.

Andy tired out the swing too. Suzy said he'd never been in it before, so I hope that was okay Marti and Rob. Andy didn't seem to care much about it one way or the other.

Both boys really liked Kaitlyn. I was worried they were going to get in a little baby fight over her.

Here's a trick Lane picked up from Andy. Such a big boy.

Wait one second...did you say mini-van? New house and new car?

Or maybe you're borrowing it while you have a fam of 6.

Questions that must be answered while sitting in hotel lobby...anyway, looks like a fun time at your place!

Good job. It is hard to get them to have a time out when they are in the van. Usually it is Esther trying to touch one of the boys. I am glad that you have help with the additions to your family this week. You look like you are doing well, hang in there and remember that you get to give them back.

Really, from the pics it just looks like you're partying all day! ;o)
Glad things are continuing to go well for the most part.
