We interrupt this vacation...

...to bring you the latest baby news. We had our 28 week ultrasound this morning, and all seems well. Baby Boy measures 2 weeks ahead in size. He's about 3 and a half pounds now. The doctor said that, "He's just big all over." Meaning his size has more to do with genetics right now than my diabetes. Basically the doctor pointed at Daryl and said it's his fault. He said it was too early to estimate how large he might get before delivery. I believe he said that right now, the baby is pretty much in the 70th percentile for everything (head, tummy, limbs, etc.) That's about where Brynna was except she had really long femurs, almost off the chart.

Two weeks ahead doesn't mean they'll take him two weeks early. That's just a size measurement. Right now we're still looking at about a week early, around 8/8/08, I think.

We'll have another ultrasound in 4 weeks, 3 weeks after that, then every two weeks, maybe even once a week until delivery. I'm at 28 weeks now (out of 40)! That means we're in the last tri-mester!

Here are our latest shots of the boy.

Looking into his face. You can see his chin and eyes and make out some of the facial structure. The cheek is a little distorted... Either that or he's got Pop's cheeks!

A profile view. Cute little nose. You can see a little hand just beyond his head and his knee curling up to his chin.

He spend much of the ultrasound in the pike position (think diving) with his feet up around his forehead. Daryl said the last time he was in the pike position, he was probably still in utero too.
