Bluebonnets

Wildflower season is probably the most beautiful time of year in Texas. Last year Central Texas was in the middle of a severe drought. We still had wildflowers, but they were not all that impressive. This year we've had plenty of rain, and the bluebonnets and other wildflowers are making up for lost time. It's been an impressive crop this season.

Pathetic, but I have a hard time enjoying the wildflowers until we get a couple of good pictures of the kids in the bluebonnets. Last weekend we had our shot on the way back to Austin from Houston. We are not ashamed to be "those" people on the side of the highway. I am pretty sure we (and about 200 other people) found the blue-est and densest patch of bluebonnets between H-town and Austin. The only little catch was that is was on the wrong side of a barbed-wire fence. Not matter; we're also not ashamed to be "those" people who squeeze under barbed-wire for the perfect picture. And really, everybody else was doing it.
