Houston

Last weekend we traveled to Houston to celebrate my Grandmother's birthday. My parents and Brett and Alexis all met up at G & G's house for some bar-b-q chicken and cake... mmmm cake. It had been quite a while since all of us had been together like that, and we a had a nice time visiting and playing with Brynna.

Dad asked Grandmother what her earliest birthday memory was. She said when she was about 5 or 6 years old, her father gave her a whole watermelon on her birthday. A whole watermelon that she didn't have to share with anyone, that was pretty special. Dad asked if she chilled it before she ate it. She laughed and sand said they didn't have anyway of chilling stuff back then.
